Artlook is a partnership of twelve artists who exhibit regularly in and around the New Forest and Salisbury.

Their work is diverse in subject matter encompassing landscapes, still life, figurative and abstract in various media, including watercolour, acrylics, pen, pencil and pastel. In addition to framed work the group also produce a range of greetings cards.

My paintings are inspired by the light and unique atmosphere of the New Forest and coastline; also hand-crafted prints often incorporating found objects in collagraphs which are hand printed using mostly recycled materials.

Joyce - I paint in watercolours, pastel and on silk, realistic and abstract. My silk painting includes panels, scarves and jewellery.

Christine - Landscapes, flowers and experimental work in watercolour and acrylics. Author of Bradley, the New Forest Bear with three illustrated stories in each book.

My current theme is Memory - how places and happenings are remembered and whether the history of a place affects our memory of it. Locations are usually found within south Dorset and Hampshire because of my long association.

A variety of media are used, both individually and combined, to explore this phenomenon.

I make, carve, construct, turn on a lathe anything from wood, usually from very local timbers. I prefer spalted, re-cycled or just querky woods.

Some of my acrylic, abstract paintings will generally be available to view as well.

Moved into the Forest 20 years ago, my passion for painting its landscape was ignited.

2006 - Double prize winner: St. Barbe Open.

Christine's latest oil paintings portray the magical qualities of early morning light along coasts from the Scillies to the Hebrides, and the everchanging moods of the mountains of Snowdonia and Cumbria.

Currently Olivia is doing less environmental art work, instead focusing on retortage drawing, especially of musicians.

Alan's paintings are in oils and watercolours, mainly inspired by the horse in action in it's natural environment.

Angela's oil/mixed media paintings and handbuilt earthenware pottery are based on observed studies, from which semi abstract outcomes evolve.

A passion for colour and surface qualities permeates across the work, while responses to the forest, local coastlines and cultural journeys aim to evoke a sense of time and place.

I am currently working on the theme 'Women's place', exploring the changes we've experienced through my lifetime and beyond, in the expectations placed on women - about their contribution to home, family and, the world of work.

I'm trying to use materials and techniques traditionally used by women, in unusual ways.

Jane spends time observing and sketching figures in their environment. This has recently extended to animals. Some of these sketches become paintings in various media. Her love of the coast is evident and inclusion of people and dogs in these paintings give scale to the seascape.

My work is mainly functional stoneware. Pots range from mugs to large platters and jugs all thrown on the wheel and high fired making durable and unique pieces. My glazes are very textural and I work with the criteria that form follows function. Throwing line are emphasised. This and the curled handles are trademarks.

The Studio and Gallery are open all year.

Sculptures and Wildlife Carvings

I love the different grains of wood which determines how it can be worked. Projects rarely finish as intended as the individual characteristics and growth patterns unfold and exert their influence.

Paintings inspired by natural forms and rhythms of local and Cornish landscapes, coastlines, seascapes in differing weathers. Also Venice in all its moods

Work ranging from representational through semi-abstract to abstract, in acrylic, oil and mixed media.

Working at home Mary makes non-functional ceramic vessels - mostly porcelain - based on perceptions of landscape and geology.

Making all her own glazes she fires in a gas kiln to 1280° C. reduction.

Bridget creates exciting contemporary paintings in bright colours with a bold approach. Acrylic, collage, charcoal and mixed media are used to create lively, textural images.

Bridget's work, alongside that of invited guest artists is hung in her new oak framed gallery, providing a wide range of art forms, themes and prices.

Although Gary works in watercolour, pastel,charcoal and acrylics, he is best known for his multimedia representations of seascapes, landscapes and city scenes using a mixture of collage and acrylic inks. The collage uses different textures of papers including handmade textured papers, tissue paper, newsprint, photographs, magazines and even sandpaper.

With motivation coming from many sources, including the natural and built environments, I find inspiration from experimenting with traditional and contemporary media, and representational and abstracted images.

My work over the years this has evolved through drawing and painting towards experimentation with collage, textiles, papermaking, printmaking and computer generated imagery.
